Privacy Policy

JE Intelligence, LLC (“JEI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit jeintel.com or engage our services. It applies to all visitors, clients, and prospective clients.

This policy is designed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for individuals in the European Economic Area, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents. If you are located in the EEA or California, additional rights apply to you as described below.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Name and email address — when you contact us, request an audit, or subscribe to updates.
  • Business information — company name, role, industry, and operational details you share during the engagement process.
  • Communications — content of emails, form submissions, and other messages sent to JEI.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage analytics — pages visited, time on site, referral source, and interaction events, collected via PostHog with your consent.
  • Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and IP address (anonymized where possible).
  • Cookies and local storage — see Section 5 for details.

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive limited information about you from referral partners or publicly available sources (e.g., LinkedIn) when researching prospective client engagements. We handle such information under the same protections as directly collected data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information collected for the following purposes:

  • Service delivery — to provide, manage, and improve the consulting and AI services you engage us for.
  • Communication — to respond to inquiries, send proposals, and maintain our working relationship.
  • Product improvement — to analyze usage patterns on our website to improve content, navigation, and offerings.
  • Marketing (with consent) — to send updates, case studies, or promotional materials where you have opted in. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal compliance — to meet our obligations under applicable law and protect our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with a limited set of trusted vendors who help us deliver our services. Each vendor is bound by data processing agreements and contractual confidentiality obligations.

We do not authorize any vendor to use your data for their own marketing or to share it with additional third parties beyond what is necessary for the stated purpose.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

Strictly Necessary

Required for the website to function. These include session management and security tokens. They cannot be disabled. No consent is required for these.

Analytics (PostHog)

Used to understand how visitors interact with jeintel.com. Collected only with your consent via the cookie banner. You may opt out at any time using the preference center or by contacting us. PostHog is configured with persistence: 'localStorage+cookie'.

Preferences

We store your cookie consent choice in localStorage under the key jei_cookie_consent so we do not ask again on repeat visits.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (GDPR).
  • Objection / Opt-out — object to processing for marketing purposes or withdraw consent at any time.
  • CCPA opt-out — California residents have the right to opt out of any sale of personal information. JEI does not sell personal information.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@jeintel.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days (or forty-five (45) days for CCPA requests where permitted).

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law:

  • Client records — retained for seven (7) years after the end of an engagement for accounting and legal purposes.
  • Marketing contacts — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Website analytics — retained for twenty-four (24) months, then aggregated and anonymized.
  • Inquiry emails — retained for three (3) years from the date of last contact.

8. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. These include encrypted data storage (Supabase with row-level security), TLS in transit, access controls, and limited vendor exposure. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@jeintel.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Transfers

JEI is based in the United States. If you are located in the EEA or UK, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Such transfers are made subject to appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, where applicable.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States of America. Where applicable, JEI complies with the requirements of the GDPR (EU 2016/679) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.).

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active clients by email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
